For children aged 4–10, the “Draussen hausen” outdoor programme offers plenty of nature, games, fun, and creativity. In Nauders, the majestic Tirolean mountains are transformed into a huge adventure playground for the whole family. Discover buggy-friendly Waalwege trails along rushing streams, exciting themed routes such as the “3 Wege,” or the Wa(a)ldpark Mösle with its forest playground and natural pond. Here, hiking truly becomes an adventure. Collect sticks together, solve puzzles, and savour the fresh mountain air in the border triangle – unforgettable moments are guaranteed.

Our hiking tips for families:

  • Hike to the Piengalm: Take the Bergkastel gondola lift up to lofty heights. The alpine pasture can be reached comfortably from the Bergkastel mountain station in less than 45 minutes.
  • Hike to the Riatschhof: Hike from the Mutzkopfbahn mountain station via the Riatschhof, offering a scenic return route back to Nauders, complete with a playground and rest stops along the way.
  • Visit to the Stieralm: An easy hiking trail leads directly from the Bergkastel mountain station to the Stieralm, making the trip particularly worthwhile with an adventure trail located in the forest.
  • Hike to the Melageralm: This remote alpine pasture, situated at the end of the valley, is easily accessible via gentle forest paths. Starting point: car park in the hamlet of Melag.
  • Walk around Lake Haidersee: This easy hike follows the scenic lakeside path around the water, featuring benches perfect for resting. Starting point: St. Valentin auf der Haide.
  • Walk at Lake Reschensee: South Tyrol’s largest lake is lined by a beautiful, 15-kilometre-long promenade. Starting point: the village of Reschen am See.
